When to start writing?
My advice? Not worth even a half Mini Magnum, but I would say don’t just wait for ideas to come along. They’re not like busses for which, of course, you have to wait.
The number 19, that was mine, though more often than not I wasn’t waiting but racing after it, trying to swing up onto the back and not fall flat on my face and be squashed by the next bus or an angry black cab.
No, don’t wait for that perfect idea to knock at the door. Out you go and start looking.
Or, if you are like me, right now, sitting here with the rain rattling at the window, stop staring at the screen and start with whatever thought noses its way to the surface and try to grab a hold of its tail before it slips away.
