If the world was flat

If the earth was flat, would it be like Copenhagen,
with loads of bicycles and baskets bulging with  pastries?

Would the horizon be so far away you could see to the edge?
Would the oceans disappear down a hole or pour into space?
Would spaceships get wet coming back into the earth’s atmosphere because they would sizzle through a constant curtain of salty water?

Would every posh person live at the top of a super-tall tower, like the one in Qatar or wherever it is they feel the need to build very tall towers, even though the world isn’t flat?

And if the world was flat, when all the ice melted and the sea level continued to rise, would all the world disappear?

Would we have to walk around in waders and grow long curved beaks like curlews? Would we whistle for our lost world? Would we take to the air and fly and fly until we could fly no more?

Or would we grow gills and become fish again, and all the people we thought were rather like sharks in the way they behaved would be eaten by the real sharks …
